Topic: Waters Rising – Hurricane Ian’s Damage Accurately Predicted by the ACUNE Tool
Description: The ACUNE (Adaptation of Coastal, Urban and Natural Environments) Tool was developed for Collier County by the University of Florida and FGCU using a $1M NOAA grant. It predicts high, med and low Sea Level Rise impacts together with nuisance flooding and storm surge for 2020, 2030, 2060 and 2100. It proved to be highly accurate in identifying the areas recently most affected by Hurricane Ian.
